Numerous groups of street professional dancers from different communities in Bulacan done in “Indakan sa Kalye” in event of the Singkaban Festival 2023 held from Malolos Cathedral to Bulacan Capitol Gym on Wednesday, September 13
Indakan sa Kalye is a road dancing competitors that showcases the skills, arts, societies, and festivals in the district of Bulacan.
This year, five towns joined the competitors and represented their local celebrations– Malolos (Feast Republika), Santa Maria (Pista Santa Maria), San Jose Del Monte (Tanglawan Event), Guiguinto(Halamanan Celebration), and Angat (Gulayan sa Angat).
In a meeting with Pacesetter, some road dancers shared their experiences and the importance of celebrating Singkaban Celebration annually.
Rose De Jesus, a performer from San Jose Del Monte, claimed that she had blended feelings after they performed.
“Ang nararamdamin namin ay stress at pleasure kasi sabi ni train, kahit ‘di kami manalo basta nag-e-enjoy lang kami sa ginagawa namin ay alright lang,” she claimed.
De Jesus told that conducting this sort of event is crucial particularly in the culture of Bulacan.
“Sa ganitong event naipapakita natin na buhay ang kultura natin,” she added.
Michael Gallano, 27 years of ages from Guiguinto and had been signing up with the event given that 2013, shared that they signed up with Aliwan Fiesta 2023 where they won 4 th area. Aiming for a bigger honor, he said that it functioned as their large preparation for this year’s Singkaban Celebration.
“Kaya naging inspiration po namin siya para pag-igihan at mag-champion,” he stated.
Gallano also said that commemorating this kind of festival played a huge duty in recommending the culture, product, and tourist of Bulacan.
On the other hand, the audience revealed their sensations after seeing the dancing choreographies executed by the road dancers.
Deyy Balmedina, 19 years old from Malolos, informed that it was her very first time to view a road dancing competitors. She stated that she delighted in and felt astonished on the efficiencies that she witnessed.
“Meron pong awareness na nakita ko po ‘yung ability ng mga Bulakenyo, kung gaano sila ka-competitive, and kung paano po sila nagde-dedicate sa kung anumang skill na mayroon sila,” she added.
Paris Roque, an audience from Guiguinto, saw his old self while viewing the performers danced in the event.
“Prior to [ay] professional dancer cacophony ako ng Singkaban, mga 2015 Kinakabahan ako para sa mga dancers kasi alam ko ‘yung experience na nagsasayaw sa harap ng maraming tao,” Roque claimed.
With a theme “Likas na Yaman, Kasaysayan, at Kultura, Pangalagaan Ating Pamana,” the head of Provincial History, Arts, Culture, and Tourist Workplace (PHACTO) of the District of Bulacan Dr. Eliseo Dela Cruz clarified the relevance of celebrating Singkaban Event.
“Napakahalaga kasi mayaman nating kultura ‘to e. Ito ‘yung sining at kultura at galing nating mga Bulakenyo kaya dapat lang na pinahahalagahan natin. Kasi ‘yung society, kapag hindi tayo lumingon diyan wala tayong silbi kasi ‘yung kultura, ayun ang pinakakaluluwa ng ating lalawigan. Sumasalamin ‘yun kung anong mayroong lipunan ang mayroon tayo,” Dela Cruz stated.
After the competitors, the town of Guiguinto was hailed as the grand champ of Indakan sa Kalye 2023, making it their 3rd consecutive win. They additionally got the best in outfit and best in street dancing awards.
Meanwhile, the cities of San Jose Del Monte and Malolos won the second and 3rd area, respectively. The municipalities of Santa Maria and Angat were the runners-up of the competition.
